Find Your Core to Win - Corwin's Blog
A native of Chicago, relocacted from L.A., I trained with trailblazers Patsy Rodenburg and Mark Wheatley (Theatre Complicité). I hold a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a Somatic Concentration. My M.F.A. in theatre is from Florida State U/Asolo Conservatory. Acting Methods include Meisner, Practical Aesthetics, and the Stanislavsky System. While an Assistant Professor of Theatre at Ashland University, the National Partners in American Theater named me the 2006 Regional Winner - Classical Acting Award Coach. I run a studio for acting, movement, and Rolfing. Movement leaders I am trained in are Alexander, Feldenkrais, Rolf, Pilates, Yoga, Laban, Lecoq, Grotowski, Vakhtangov, Meyerhold, and Eginton. I train strong, supple and physically alert actors. As an actress, I have been described as "wonderfully ebullient, organic, luminous." I have performed with Asolo Theatre Festival, Tennessee Repertory Theater, Nashville Shakespeare Festival, Banyan Theatre, Cleveland Playhouse, ICT, Falcon Theatre, on GREY'S ANATOMY! I coach actors to cultivate personal awareness to apply to roles. I served as the Head of Movement for actor training at Northern Illinois University.
